However fake lawn can be a DIY job if you have had some contruction/landscape gardening experience.
When taking on the job of installing artificial lawn there are four main steps.
Synthetic Grass Layout / Removing existing base
The first step is to mark out the area in which you want to lay the artificial grass and layout where the pieces of turf are going to go. You will need to make sure you have enough fake grass to cover the identified area. Once you have confirmed the area, existing grass and debris will need to be removed to expose bare earth.
Laying the Fake Turf Base
We recommend you install the artificial turf on a base of compacted crusher of a depth of 50mm or on a concrete slab.
Laying the Synthetic Grass
Roll out the fake grass ensuring the pile is all pointing in the same direction. Trim to fit and join the pieces with joining tape.
Install the Fill Materials
Different types of fake grass require different types of fills and levels. You will need to evenly spread sand and/or rubber over the grass with a broom.
